Mr. Griffin concentrates his practice in traditional labor law. For more than 30 years, Mr. Griffin has represented private and public sector employers throughout the United States in labor relations and employment law matters exclusively, including: union avoidance, union organizing campaigns, unfair labor practice proceedings, strikes, collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations, employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation issues, employment contracts including non-compete agreements, wage/hour law, employment policies and training, FMLA and ADA, administrative and court proceedings and alleged wrongful discharge matters.
An AV® rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell, Mr. Griffin is among the first group of attorneys to be Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Labor and Employment Law. In addition, he is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Civil Mediator.
Mr. Griffin is recognized in Florida SuperLawyers 2006-2008 and has been listed in the Who’s Who in American Law since the Tenth Edition. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2001 to present editions of Best Lawyers in America, published by Woodward/White, Inc.
A former Adjunct Professor of Industrial Relations and Labor Law at the University of South Florida College of Business, Mr. Griffin is also a frequent speaker and workshop leader at numerous seminars, meetings and conferences on public and private sector labor relations and employment law. He has authored several articles on the Fair Labor Standards Act including “The Fair Labor Standards Act and Other Wage/Hour Laws,” Florida Small Business Practice Manual, The Florida Bar, Continuing Legal Education, First Edition 1986, Second Edition 1991, Third Edition 1995 and Fourth Edition 1999. Additionally, Mr. Griffin co-authored the Wage and Hour Answer Book, in May 2000 and authored the Wage and Hour Answer Book, Second Edition, in November 2004 (which is updated annually) published by Aspen Publishing, Inc.
